Have you ever wondered how to make homemade soap?
Making your own bar soaps can have many benefits.
Homemade soap will be free of cancer causing and estrogen increasing parabens, which you will find in store bought soaps.
You can even make soaps that are free from allergens, such as perfumes and dyes. These are bad for your health and the environment, and are also added to most store bought soaps.
Of course you can add your own natural food coloring to your recipe to make a more vibrantly colored soap.
Here are some easy homemade soap recipes to get you started:
Vanilla Almond Homemade Soap Recipe:
This homemade soap recipe is one of my favorite. The vanilla scent is amazing and the almonds are great for exfoliating.
1/3 cup whole almonds
1/4 cup distilled water
1 tbsp almond oil
1/8 tsp natural vanilla essential oil
4 ounce bar of Castile soap
Grind the almonds to a powder in a food processor or coffee grinder.
Shred the Castile soap with a cheese grater and set aside.
Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan then reduce heat to a simmer.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the almond powder, almond oil, and vanilla oil, Stir until blended fully.
Use a ladle or spoon to place the soap into a mold.
Let your homemade soap harden, approx. 6 hours.
